塞翁失马

Saiweng Loses a Horse

很久很久以前，有一个老人，我们就叫他塞翁吧。有一天，他家丢了一匹马，大家都很着急，到处找。可是不管别人怎么着急，他都不急，还说：“别找了，找也找不到，再说，这也许并不是坏事。”
几个月后，那匹马回来了，还带回来一匹好马。家里都很高兴，可是他却说：“这也许并不是好事。”
塞翁的儿子很喜欢那匹好马，一有空儿就骑，结果，他从马背上摔下来，腿摔断了。全家人都很难过，可是塞翁却说：“事情已经发生了，难过也没用，再说，这也许并不一定是坏事。”
不久，发生了战争，树里的年轻人都得去当兵，塞翁的儿子因为腿不好，不能当兵。结果，很多年轻人参加战争死了，塞翁的儿子却活到了90多岁。
后来，人们用 “塞翁失马”,这个成语来表示坏事有可能变成好事。
